Youthfront is looking for volunteers to help us with our programs!
Camp Opportunities (Summer only, at both Camp West and Camp LaCygne locations)
- REGISTRATION DAY: With two camp locations running simultaneously, we need volunteers to help us with the registration process! It’s a blast–you get to watch campers file in–their energy is contagious! Jobs include: helping campers get their registration wristbands, directing parents, answering questions and being part of the excitement of that first day of camp! If you have time to come for 2 hours on Monday, Wednesday or Friday, we can use YOU!
- VOLUNTEER CABIN LEADERS: Each camp session we need Volunteer Cabin Leaders to come alongside our staff and minister to the youth who come through our camp. To apply or get more information go to youthfront.com/vcl.
- LANDSCAPING: We need assistance to take care of our landscape. This may include pulling weeds, trimming areas or even maybe mowing. If you have a love for landscape, sign up today!
- CLEANING: Our campgrounds get messy during the weeks of camp! Our teen staff could use some help keeping our grounds clean. If you don’t mind helping clean, we could use you!
Something to Eat Opportunities (Year-round)
- WAREHOUSE: Come help in the warehouse. This is not for the weak of heart! We need help cleaning, moving bags of rice, soy, veggies, loading pallets and more!
- MOBILE FOOD DISTRIBUTION: Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, the Franklin Center mobilizes food distribution for the neighbors of Kansas City, Kansas. Volunteers are needed from 12:15-3:45. Join us!
Snack Shack in KCK (Year-round)
This is a youth-run venture so your role will mainly be to help the youth when needed. Some things you may be doing include, selling snacks behind the counter, stepping in to help resolve a conflict or playing referee for a rousing game of air hockey. Most of the time, you’ll be hanging out with the youth, playing games, helping with their homework, etc. In the rare emergency situation, we may have you step in as the adult and lead (we will provide you with emergency procedures). Our goal for the adult volunteers is to be a constant presence at the Snack Shack, whether you are volunteering once or twice a week or once or twice a month. Our hope is that each volunteer really gets to know the kids and engages with them in a consistent way.
If you are interested in helping in one of these areas, fill out the volunteer application below and we will be in touch shortly!
