Cathryn and Jay Linney became supporters of Youthfront’s mission when their three children Ryan, Reid, and Anna started attending Youthfront Camp at both LaCygne and Edgerton. Ryan enjoyed his summer experience at Camp so much that he is now serving for the second year on Teen Staff as a high schooler. His favorite job is working in the Snack Shack and seeing the excitement of all the campers arriving! At camp this year, Reid spent time worshiping and fishing with his middle school buddies. Anna prepared for Night Strike and playing at Splash Park with her elementary school friends. Camp, along with year-round Youthfront activities, encourage the children to grown in both faith and friendships.

The home church for the Linney Family is Village Presbyterian where they are members. Cathryn and Jay are Kansas City natives and met 20 years ago while working at Cerner Corporation. Jay was just recognized for his 20th year at Cerner where he accepted a position after attending Kansas State University, consulting at KPMG and receiving his MBA from the University of Chicago. Cathryn graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Biology degree and received her MBA from the University of Kansas. Cathryn is the founder and President of local non-profit group Newborns In Need, Inc., and serves on the Board of BVPAGE along with KC Crusaders. Family summers include traveling together, tennis, golf, volunteering and playing their mini-goldendoodle, Jewel.

“We love the mission of Youthfront! They are changing the lives of local children by walking beside them in faith and providing outreach services across the city. Our first touch with Youthfront was summer camp but it really offers so much more, not only to our family but to families across the metro. Students grow in faith by serving on staff with Youthfront and getting involved in their programs such as the meal-packing program Something to Eat™ and Snack Shack KC which is the after-school program in the Argentine community of KCK.”
