Wini Kapple

Wini graduated from Whitefield Academy and will be attending Kansas State University in the fall. She will be studying Secondary Education.

“One of my favorite memories was from Week 10 of my freshman year! A bunch of the Teen Staff went into the “Prug” (prayer room underground) and screamed several worship songs and made instruments out of pretty much everything in the room! That may have been the first time I truly felt like I belonged in a group of people!”

Cory Lawson

Cory is graduating from Olathe North High School this year and will be attending the University of Kansas in the fall to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science.

“My favorite Teen Staff memory would have to be just being able to meet everyone and share such amazing experiences with such amazing, caring people”.

Sophia Hill

Sophia graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School. She will be attending The University of Arkansas and is double majoring in Criminology and Psychology with the possibility of going to law school.

“My favorite Teen Staff memory is all the Friday night dodgeball parties after the bonfire. After a long week of hard work around the camp, it is literally so fun to just hang out with everyone and stay up all hours of the night!! This was one of my favorite things we did during Teen Staff but the thing I will always take away from Teen Staff is the community it builds and the amazing people you meet. There is no place like Youthfront and no community like Teen Staff. It’s amazing to me that we are serving our community and other people while also serving God, and sometimes you don’t even realize it. Teen Staff definitely gave me an outlet to focus on God and serve as a reminder of how important it is to keep our faith a priority in our lives. I will always have a special place in my heart for Teen Staff!”

Peyton Sannan

Peyton graduated from Seaman High School in Topeka. Next fall, she will be going to Baker University and majoring in Nursing with a minor in Leadership. She will also be running on the Cross Country team.

“As a first-year TS’er, I had a lot of doubts coming into Camp. I was two hours from home at an unfamiliar place where I didn’t know anyone. TS’ing ended up being – hands down – one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s really hard to choose a favorite memory but I’d have to say Camp LaCygne Week 8 when I helped Meg get herself out from between the rungs on the waterslide. I remember laughing so hard it took me awhile to actually help her!

Palmer Bowles

Palmer graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and is going to Kansas State University to study Park Conservation and Management.

“My favorite memory from Teen Staff is the 2018 Croc Missional Journey. The people of Croc truly taught me so much and truly epitomized “love your neighbor”.  I returned to the States with a new perspective on the world and humanity as a whole. I hope to someday return to Croc, Mexico”.

Noah Buresh

Noah is from Kansas City Christian School and plans on attending Cedarville University and major in Biblical Studies.

“I started Teen Staff going into freshman year, and I enjoyed all four summers I was able to be a part of the community! I loved being able to meet fellow teenagers with hearts for service and for the Lord, and being poured into by all the amazing supervisors I was blessed with serving with. My faith grew through practicing spiritual disciplines with the community and being able to work through passages of scripture as a group to understand our Lord deeper. My favorite memory has to be when I went stargazing my freshman year with some Teen Staff and that’s the first time I really bonded and connected deeply with the other kids that would grow to be valued friends”.

Braden Stanley

Braden, who now works full-time at Youthfront, attended school at Mighty Oaks in Gardner and took classes at Johnson County Community College.

“Teen Staff has been vital to my development but perhaps the greatest thing I learned from it is the value of living a God-driven life. Leaving Teen Staff I didn’t know what was going to come but I knew I wanted God to be a part of it”.

Avery Dilley

Avery graduated from Blue Valley North and will be studying Human Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Arkansas.

“My three summers on Teen Staff were better than I could have ever asked for. It was the best decision I’ve ever made, and the joy and love and laughter that radiated from everyone around me was something very special. I made the very best memories and the very best friends through being a part of this community, and I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world”.

Jack Legate

Jack graduated from Blue Valley West High School. He will be attending the University of Utah and majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis on Game Design and a minor in Math.

“Teen Staff has been one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. Every week I grew as a person because of the people around me. My favorite memories are hysterically laughing during late-night “hallway parties”. I am truly grateful for everyone who makes Teen Staff a thing!”

Maya Freeman

Maya graduated from Blue Valley West High School and will be attending the University of Arkansas to study Nursing and Spanish.

“I was a part of Teen Staff all 4 years and it helped me to grow so much as a person. I met so many of my closest friends there and I’ve grown in my faith tremendously. I’m also excited to return this summer as a Cabin Leader for Youthfront Camp West!”

Lauren Vincent

Lauren graduated from Louisburg High School and will be attending the University of Colorado Boulder majoring in Art Practices with a concentration in Photography.

“Teen Staff has been my rock for the past 4 years. It has truly been a life-changing experience and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! It brought me some of my best friends and memories that I will cherish forever! My favorite memory would be my last Friday night “chairs” then staying up all night to watch the sunrise on top of the water tower with all of the lug ladies!”

Joel Scharenberg

Joel graduated from Shawnee Mission Horizons / CAA in 3 years.

“My Teen Staff memory is going on the Croc, Mexico Mission trip because it had the same warm and joyful feeling as Camp. We went down to Croc and played with the kids for a week. The kids were so much fun to hang out with”.

Ross Baker

Ross graduated from Winnetonka High School and will be attending MCC in the fall.

“My favorite Teen Staff memory was when I blobbed a DVD copy of “Good Burger”!

Chelsea Philgreen

Chelsea Philgreen graduated from Louisburg High School and will be attending the University of Arkansas as a Business major in the fall.

“The best thing about this program is that it encapsulates so many of the best things in life: community, spiritual growth, service, rest, and fun. I could go on and on about each one of these, but I think Teen Staff is most memorable to me because it’s where I started to realize this whole Jesus thing was the real deal and not just a random religion. Week 1 of Summer 2016 (my Freshman year on Teen Staff) was the first time that I actually encountered the Holy Spirit. It was in this program, along with dozens of other hungry teenagers (spiritually and literally lol) that I remember actually wanting to spend time with the Father and beginning to love Him for the first time. I honestly believe that had I not been involved in Teen Staff, I would not be walking with the Lord in the way that I am today. For that – and for many other reasons – I am forever grateful for Teen Staff. Thank you for the many laughs, it’s been an amazing four summers. :)”

Jamie Metzger

Jamie will be attending the University of Arkansas in the fall and majoring in Psychology. She will also be minoring in Criminology and is interested in Forensic Psychology.

“Ever since I can remember, I have hated school. When I started Teen Staff at Youthfront my freshman year, it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I could finally be myself and be around people who actually wanted to be my friends. I found my best friends at Youthfront and created life-long memories”.

We offer year-round opportunities to serve at Camp and in other programs of our ministry while also providing a safe community.
