Has stress caused you to overreact or lose your temper with your children? Do you wish you had tools for gaining and maintaining control over anxiety and sadness?


This informative parenting session will dive into the neuroscience behind how our bodies react to stress and provide practical tools to help parents be a calm presence with their children despite stressful circumstances. Neuroscientist Andrea Freemyer and Youthfront Senior Director of Family Ministries Jamie Roach will share personal accounts of trauma and recovery and walk parents through breathwork exercises that are scientifically proven and Biblically aligned to regain and maintain a peaceful mind and body.


About Andrea:

Andrea Freemyer, Ph.D., describes herself as a self love coach, body connection guide, and breathwork facilitator. Andrea is an academic scientist turned spiritual enthusiast. She is a single mother to one of her greatest teachers- her five-year-old son. She feels most at home and free when surrounded by nature- another one of her greatest teachers. Today, she embodies deep self-trust, self-empowerment and confidence. Through her experience through post-traumatic growth, Andrea has become deeply committed to helping people walk through difficult times by focusing on and strengthening the relationship we have with ourselves.

About Jamie:

Jamie has served on the staff of Youthfront for 33 years, working with students, parents and youth workers. His passion is seeing people formed into the image of Jesus Christ. Jamie is an author, communicator and spiritual director. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling. Jamie loves Nebraska football, reading and hanging out with his family. Jamie and Lea Ann have four adult children, Megan, Haley, Logan and Sophie.
