Teen Staff Position Descriptions

Thanks for your interest in Teen Staff. Here is a quick look at the different positions available. Some of the positions (like Lifeguards) require that you have experience and/or certification. Most positions require no training —  we can teach you everything you need to know, so be daring and try something new! Musts for every position are a love for God and love for others. Can you see yourself here?


Requires certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR by a nationally recognized provider such as the Red Cross or Ellis. These people will assist the Head Lifeguards in creating a safe environment at all waterfront areas and help with pool maintenance.

Waterfront Lookout

Requires a love of sun and water. In this position, you will help the lifeguards in a variety of ways for our lake activities (blob, Splash Park, boats, etc). Lifeguarding certification is not required for this position.

Kitchen Crew

Work in an enthusiastic team environment as you make the campers wonder how teens can have so much fun assisting our cooks in preparation of meals  and cleaning up for 350 people. This Teen Staff must be able to follow through on assignments and take initiative to get things done.

Snack Shop

An indoor job with air-­conditioning that requires a big smile and a heart to serve. This position serves campers food and drinks in the Snack Shop at Camp West or the Snack Shack at Camp LaCygne and is responsible for clean up.

Polish Plus

One of our most flexible positions, this Teen Staff will keep camp buildings sparkling on the inside -­‐ including bathrooms. This  position requires the ability to see what needs to be done and do it with a big smile and pride in a job well done.


The Rangers keep the sidewalks, flower beds, and outside of camp buildings looking sharp. They help out by clearing the campus of trash. Must love the outdoors and be a strong self-starter.

Activity Assistant

This position helps out with our lakefront and game room activities. Must be organized, able to handle rowdy campers, and help others have fun.

High Ropes

This Teen Staff must be assertive and encouraging, love the outdoors, love working with people, and have great attention to detail. This position assists the High Ropes Supervisor in the safe operation of the High Ropes Course.

Day Camp Program Assistant

(Youthfront Camp LaCygne only) This position is for Teen Staff who are high-energy and ready to have some fun. Work with elementary age campers in our Day Camp program.
