Hi I’m Ellie! I was raised by Christian parents and grew up in the church. This is true but more importantly, I grew up in faith. I am beyond blessed that my family practiced consistent prayer and reliance on the Lord.
When I was a teenager, I was very “go with the flow.” I walked through whatever door happened to be open, no specific plan in mind. Little did I know that having no plan, ended up being the best plan.
In my late teen years I discovered that all these doors I had been walking through were all opened by God, and that I didn’t need a plan for myself. I just needed to listen for his plan.
I walked through a door that God set over a year ago, and met my soon to be husband! My fiance Ryan and I will be married in June and I could not ask for a better man to be by my side for the rest of my life.
I served on Teen Staff all throughout my high school summers as much as I could! The community was unlike any other I had ever experienced. I then moved on to Summer Staff as a college student and continued to grow. As I moved on from camp I continued to walk through doors that the Lord opened for me. I worked at coffee shops, churches, I worked in sales, I traveled the country with my pup (Bambina) and experienced God in ways I didn’t know were possible. I eventually ended up at a mental health treatment center for teenagers, and I was great at it! I developed extremely difficult but beautiful relationships with these teens and had the opportunity to show them Christ’s love every single day. I thought that God wanted me there forever. And yet, a different door opens. “But God, I’ve been in this room before?”
The Lord led me back to Youthfront.
I have always felt a calling towards highschoolers. The age where kids are definitely not adults yet but sometimes think they are. Teenagers are known to be difficult at times, typically because they, themselves, are experiencing a really difficult time. High school is hard! “How to survive high school” is a thought skipping through many teenagers’ brains.
I am committed to cultivating an environment where highschoolers can learn to follow Christ through community, practices, service and relationship. I believe that in doing this, we also cultivate stewards of the Lord to eventually step out into adulthood, and act as Christ in our communities.
As an aspect of my responsibilities at Youthfront, I fundraise to support the ministry and a portion of my salary. I am beyond excited to share my dreams for my ministry with everyone and receive support, not only financially, but through prayers and community too! You can support me monthly or as a one-time gift.
I will be sending out regular newsletters to keep everyone updated in my ministry and my life outside of Youthfront! Thank you so much for considering a partnership with me and if you have any questions please reach out!
I am so thankful to be working in a position where I have the opportunity to sow partnerships with so many people. Thank you for prayerfully considering supporting my ministry. Please click the button below to learn more. Thank you!
