Argentine is a working class, majority Latino neighborhood in Kansas City, Kansas that has been dubbed the ‘Taco Capital of America’ by Forbes magazine. Experience all of the beauty and struggles of immigrants in Argentine. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with organizations joining God’s work of redemption. Take time to color with a kid. Oh and the food? Guaranteed you’ve never had anything this good.
Though just across the US border, you feel as if you’re deep in the heart of Mexico. Ciudad Acuña has all of the hope and heartache of migrants from Africa and the Americas searching for a better life, but none of the danger of other border towns. Meet asylum seekers who have traveled on foot. Walk the banks of the river patrolled by border guards. Serve in migrant shelters. Bring a smile to kids who have seen too much in too few years.
