YF Neighborhood offers tangible ways to help neighbors in need. Our Something To Eat food packing program was created to help fight food insecurity by providing shelf-stable and nutritious meals to our local food pantries and communities.
City-Wide Meal Packing Event!
Last February, we held our inaugural STE KC event where hundreds of people came together to pack over 35,000 meals for food pantries across Kansas City. Our inaugural city-wide meal packing event was a huge success—bringing churches, families, schools, and businesses together to fight food insecurity in our community. We plan to go even bigger on February 28, 2026—will you join us?
Through a partnership with Harvesters, Something to Eat™ provides fresh and shelf-stable food to neighbors in Kansas City, Kansas. Each month, volunteers help sort, pack, and distribute food for more than 350 households facing food insecurity. The event happens on the second Wednesday of every month from 1:00–4:15 p.m. at the Franklin Center in Kansas City, KS.
This is a hands-on volunteer opportunity for all ages — families, small groups, and individuals are welcome. Our Youthfront Grandparent Ministry plays a key role in serving alongside us each month. Come help fight hunger and strengthen community through presence and service.
