This presentation, drawn from Andy’s new book Evangelism in an Age of Despair, explores the cultural weight we’ve placed on “happiness” as the measure of a good life—and how that pursuit often leaves us more isolated and discouraged. Instead, the Christian tradition offers a theology of the cross: consolation, community, and walking together through sorrow.
Through reflection and conversation, we’ll consider how ministries can embody this way of life, sharing the good news not as shallow cheer but as deep presence with one another—taking the very form of Christ in the world. This event is open to all pastoral staff.
