What is unique about the Arise New Hope program?

Arise New Hope is an 8-week program that meets the specific needs of justice-involved youth as they are released from the juvenile detention center and/or are on probation. Youthfront’s Pathways and Presence-Centered Counseling teams lead the program, which helps youth seeking tools and skills for anger management, building healthy relationships, and recovery from addictions. Arise New Hope also offers support for the youths' families.

What does the program entail?

Classes typically start at the beginning of each month. The day, time, and location vary depending on the needs of the participants. Program participants work through the principles taught in the curriculum with the support of mentors, Youthfront’s program staff, and our inhouse licensed therapist. Arise New Hope uses a curriculum developed by Operation New Hope, which has decades of experience assisting formerly incarcerated young people make changes in their lives.

Alongside the curriculum lesson and a meal, the program involves reflection, journaling and goal-setting. Youth who need other services (education, housing, training, transportation) will be guided and referred to community partners for that support. Upon completion, youth are invited to connect with Club Arise, Teen Parent Connect (if applicable), or another support group.

Who can be a part of Arise New Hope?
